Published at last!
It’s available on Amazon.ca as both an ebook and a paperback and is available on Kobo as an ebook.
A word to the wise for all you self-publishers out there: the Kindle self-publishing app is helpful and can give your product a polished look. I had an impossible time of it getting my file from the app into the publishing website for conversion. That most likely is my own fault for missing something subtle but essential in the process. Perhaps the free version is deliberately awkward? I don’t know.
My advice is to set your manuscript up yourself following instructions available online from experienced ebook self-publishers who have figured out what works. It requires patience and attention to detail. Once you have uploaded your file into the website software, the software will take over and guide you the rest of the way, including advising you if there are any technical reasons your book can’t be published, and listing spelling errors and typos so that you can correct them.
In the case of The Burin Girl, the spelling mistakes were legion and all of them had to be ignored! When you write regional dialogue, you’re going to break some rules….
